This early 19th-century side table is rendered in the Regency style from dark brown rosewood. The rectangular top has rounded corners and a crossbanded facing above a shallow frieze, supported by a central column with a ring-turned cap, rounded and stepped flutes, a fluted socle, and a gadrooned collar. The triangular base has re-entrant sides, a reeded mould, and carved lion's paw feet. The table stands 74 cm high, 48 cm wide, and 41 cm deep. Positioned in a living room, this piece serves well at the end of a sofa or as a compact lamp table. Its traditional design integrates easily into classic or eclectic interiors, providing a practical surface for everyday use while displaying refined nineteenth-century craftsmanship.

It is a small occasional table produced during the Regency or early Victorian era, featuring a flat surface supported by a central pillar mounted on a tripod or triform base.

These pieces were built using dark rosewood veneers over solid hardwood substrates, held together with hand-cut joinery, threaded central iron bolts, and carved solid wood base details.

Authentic pieces feature dark, dense grain with contrasting streaks, hand-carved foot detailing, subtle timber shrinkage, and evidence of hand-sawn construction beneath the tabletop.

Position the table alongside modern upholstered seating as a drink surface, or place it in an entryway topped with a sculptural vessel.

Keep the furniture away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent veneer movement, dust regularly with a soft cloth, and apply natural beeswax polish annually.
