Antique Carved Rosewood and Marble Side Table

19th century
Description

A beautiful antique carved rosewood and marble side table. This was made in France, it dates from around the 1840-50’s period.

It is of superb quality, the solid rosewood frame is beautifully carved with cabriole legs, scrolled feet and gorgeous floral carving around the top edges. There is a wonderful inset marble top, this is finished identically front and back, so can be used as a free standing item.

We have had the frame re-polished, the rosewood has a gorgeous colour tone and patina. The marble top has been newly cut for this, the condition is excellent all round for its age.

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

  • Period19th century
  • SizeH 71 cm (28 in) x W 48 cm (19 in) x D 28 cm (11 in)

This Regency side table is made from solid rosewood with an inset marble top, standing 71 cm high, 48 cm wide, and 28 cm deep. The carved frame includes cabriole legs, scrolled feet, and floral decoration along the top edges, and the newly cut marble top has a patterned surface of mottled dark grey and green tones. The rosewood shows warm brown colour tones and a polished patina, and the legs curve outwards from the rectangular top. Position this side table in a hallway, drawing room, or bedroom to hold small decorative items, a lamp, or a vase. Its narrow profile suits compact spaces alongside a sofa or against a wall, and the finished appearance on both the front and back allows placement in the middle of a room away from walls.
