Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Edwardian furniture, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, often combined lighter, more delicate proportions inspired by 18th-century neoclassical revivals with intricate satinwood stringing and marquetry.

These tables were typically constructed using a mahogany or satinwood carcase, frequently enhanced with contrasting veneers, boxwood stringing, and elaborate floral or geometric marquetry motifs.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit hand-cut veneers, traditional mortise and tenon or dowel joinery, oxidised brass castors, and natural ageing marks such as subtle fading and crazing in the French polish finish.

An antique mahogany table can be used as a contrasting accent piece in contemporary living spaces, pairing rich timber tones with minimalist upholstery and neutral colour palettes.

Maintain the finish by keeping the piece away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent timber splitting, and clean periodically using a soft, dry cloth and high-quality beeswax.
