Georgian porcelain is characterised by its refined neoclassical shapes, delicate hand-painted polychrome floral motifs, and the use of soft-paste or early hard-paste ceramic bodies produced during the reigns of George I through George IV.

Late 18th-century teaware typically utilised soft-paste porcelain formulations comprising a mixture of white clay, glass frits, and soapstone, fired at lower temperatures before being glazed and hand-painted over or underglaze.

Authentic pieces often feature specific pattern numbers painted in red or brown enamel on the base, characteristic iron-red border lines, unglazed foot rims, and subtle glaze imperfections consistent with late 18th-century kiln technology.

Antique tea bowls and saucers can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, mounted in shadow boxes, or styled carefully on open shelving to introduce historical texture and delicate colour accents to contemporary spaces.

Antique porcelain should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using a mild, non-ionic detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges, ultrasonic cleaners, and immersion in water for extended periods to protect fragile enamels.
