FAQs

A vendange table, or harvest table, is a traditional piece of furniture originating from the wine-producing regions of France, historically used during the grape harvest for communal meals or sorting.

These tables are traditionally constructed from solid native French hardwoods, most commonly oak or chestnut, joined using traditional pegged mortise and tenon construction.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-planed top boards, handmade iron or wooden fixings, deep natural patination, and characteristic folding or trestle base mechanisms designed for easy storage.

An antique harvest table works well as a focal point in a contemporary kitchen or dining room, contrasting effectively against minimalist chairs and modern lighting to add warmth and history.

Maintain antique oak surfaces by dusting with a dry cloth and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the wood, avoiding synthetic cleaners and excessive moisture.
