FAQs

The French Rococo revival style is characterised by asymmetrical C-scrolls, S-scrolls, floral carvings, and serpentine outlines inspired by 18th-century continental design.

These tables were typically constructed using dense hardwoods such as rosewood or mahogany, often featuring secondary woods like oak or pine for internal framing and hand-cut dovetail joints.

Authenticity is determined by inspecting the hand-cut joinery, the patina of the timber, the mechanics of the folding leaf hinges, and period-appropriate tool marks on the underside.

An antique games table serves as a functional console against a wall or can be unfolded to function as an occasional surface in a living room or study, contrasting sharply with contemporary minimalism.

Maintain antique rosewood by keeping it out of direct sunlight, avoiding extreme humidity fluctuations, and periodically applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the timber without damaging the patina.
