Antique Early Treen Pair of 18thc / 19thc Yew Wood Turned Salts. English. C1780-c1800

Description

A very good pair of late 18thc / 19thc turned salts made out of yew wood...which is always a sign of quality as you get such a lovely colour after years of use...they stand on a slightly raised base and have ring turned decoration....excellent signs of lathe "chatter" to the inside of each bowl and the desirable lathe marks to the underneath....one has a slight burn to an outside edge of its base, but it doesn't effect the desirability of these collectable pieces as it has aged with the piece and just shows it has had a life....always nice to see....
