An excellent mahogany-cased brass Astronomical and Terrestrial Telescope, by Broadhurst, Clarkson & Co, 63 Farringdon Road, London EC, complete with all its original components. Stand, eye pieces and counter-balance bar. Length when fully extended 59 inches (150cm). Diameter of main tube 4 inches (10cm)

The Makers: Broadhurst Clarkson & Co, 63 Farringdon Road, London. The original business was run by Alexander Clarkson as sole proprietor; in 1898 his general manager Robert Broadhurst and Broadhurst's brother-in-law William Towns joined as additional partners. From 1918 onwards the Farringdon Road address was shown as 'Telescope Makers'.
