In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Victorian footwear reflects the fashion and social standards of the 19th century, typically characterised by high-top silhouettes, stacked heels, and fitted construction designed to support the ankle.

These pieces were traditionally handcrafted from genuine leather uppers, leather soles, and cotton or leather laces, often featuring metal eyelets and reinforced toe caps.

Authentic items display period-correct hand-stitching, genuine aged leather patina, hand-cobbled construction marks, and specific hardware types typical of the late 19th century.

Historical apparel and accessories can be displayed within glass cloches, shadow boxes, or on dedicated shelving as sculptural curiosities to add depth and historic character to a room.

Preservation requires stable, low-humidity environments away from direct sunlight, avoiding modern chemical treatments, and supporting the interior structure to prevent leather cracking.
