Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This nineteenth-century Sheraton Revival serving table exhibits a warm golden-brown satinwood timber with visible figuring across the rectangular tray top and lower shelf. The piece incorporates a raised gallery border, slender pierced lyre-shaped side supports, a uniting stretcher shelf, and splayed legs terminating in brass castors. Visible details include the fine grain patterns of the wood, the curved cutout openings in the vertical supports, and small round metal castors at the feet. Measuring 77 cm high, 56 cm wide and 37 cm deep, the table provides a compact surface for everyday use. Positioned in a traditional home interior, this freestanding piece functions well placed beside the end of a sofa or in a reception room for serving drinks and small items. The portable tray top design allows for functional utility while maintaining a refined profile. The open frame creates a light visual footprint, making it suitable for smaller living spaces or narrow circulation areas. The warm timber tones coordinate easily with various wood finishes found in traditional and classic interior schemes.

Sheraton Revival furniture, popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, emulates the late 18th-century designs of Thomas Sheraton. Key features include delicate proportions, geometric silhouettes, splayed legs, and the extensive use of figured woods such as satinwood, often adorned with crossbanding or painted detailing.

Tables from this era were primarily constructed using dense hardwoods such as mahogany, satinwood, and rosewood. Component parts frequently featured hand-fitted brass castors, mortise-and-tenon joinery, and veneered surfaces with contrasting timber borders.

Authentic period pieces exhibit natural wood shrinkage, subtle inconsistency in hand-cut joinery, original brass hardware with aged oxidisation, and a distinct amber patina created by decades of light exposure and wax polish.

A slender serving table functions well as a compact drinks station beside an armchair, a decorative display stand in a hallway, or an occasional side table in a living room setup.

Satinwood furniture should be kept away from direct sunlight and artificial heat sources to prevent timber cracking or veneer lifting. Regular dusting with a soft cloth and occasional application of natural beeswax will protect the historic finish.
