Featuring a dry brush gilt style finish, the French magazine rack is decorated with a three shaped and carved panels at different angles, each decorated with a central floral carved motif, flanked by ribbon carvings. Sitting on a flat base, which is decorated with a fluted frieze and floral motifs, the rack tidy stands on cabriole legs, decorated with acanthus leaves at the knees and terminates on scroll toes. This is a highly decorative but also practical rack - the dividers are ideal for storing magazines, newspapers or music sheets.

Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique French magazine rack, in the Louis style, with a gilt style finish, incorporating three cane-work panel dividers, circa 1930, in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The Canterbury features a lovely colour, with a dry brush work painted gilt effect

finish. The panels are complete and sturdy, with no missing sections or brakes. The cane-work is in good condition. This French magazine rack is solid in joint and ready to use.
