Description

An impressively large Victorian or early 20th century leather Gladstone bag. Keyless; it closes and clicks shut with its sprung lock/catch perfectly, and there are also two leather buckle straps to keep it shut when carrying. When opened up, the top aperture stays as a rectangle to facilitate loading or unpacking. Ideal for general-purpose storage as an imaginative alternative to a blanket chest, or it could be used as a toy box. 70cms long x 43cms high including handles. It is English, c.1900, made by the highly respected saddlers and luggage manufacturers WW Bridge of London.
