We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

The Regency style, spanning the late 18th to early 19th century, drew heavily from classical Greek, Roman, and Egyptian architecture, characterised by clean lines, classical proportions, and restrained ornamentation.

Cabinet makers predominantly used solid mahogany and mahogany veneers, often incorporating secondary woods like pine or oak for interior framing, complemented by brass fittings.

Authenticity is assessed through joinery techniques such as hand-cut dovetails, traditional timber shrinkage patterns, patina consistent with age, and the absence of modern machine tools.

Pairing dark wood antiques with minimalist modern seating, contemporary abstract art, and neutral walls creates a balanced interior that highlights the rich grain of the timber.

Maintain timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft cloth, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the finish.
