Fine Low Relief Pietra Dura Panel

A fine and decorative low relief pietra dura panel of a branch of peaches. The work is wonderful quality with the choice of colour and figuring of the stones perfectly mirroring the subject. It was most likely made in Florence in the mid nineteenth century reviving an earlier style. There are some losses with one leave and some small sections of branch missing, however the whole is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The work is framed in the original gilt frame with ebonised slip which is in good untouched condition with original gilding. The whole is a lovely grand tour object with a great country house look. C.1850.
