Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. FAQs

Regency furniture, spanning roughly from 1811 to 1830, is characterised by classical proportions, neoclassical motifs inspired by ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt, and a focus on fine veneers like figured mahogany.

These pieces typically utilised solid timbers such as mahogany, often enhanced with flame or figured mahogany veneers applied to secondary woods like pine or oak, joined using traditional dovetail joints and hand-turned wooden or brass elements.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage appropriate to the age, traditional polish finishes such as shellac or wax, and construction details consistent with early 19th-century cabinet making rather than modern machinery.

Pairing historical timber pieces with contemporary minimalist elements creates a balanced contrast, allowing the warm tones and rich grain of the wood to serve as a focal point in a living space or study.

Maintain antique mahogany by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent veneer cracking, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying a quality microcrystalline wax to nourish the wood.
