Regency Brass Inlaid Rosewood Pole Screen

19th century
Description

This is the Regency Period epitomised in a simple Pole Screen.

The craftsman has used Rosewood, Brass Inlay, a lyre-shaped outline, deep carving and, as a final flourish, the Screen is topped by a well-carved Prince of Wales Feathers. The unusual ‘scissor’ action brass clip which holds the Screen in place, is stamped B.B. & Co Patent. The Fabric, itself, appears to be original.

There are some old repairs and minor losses.

A very stylish and rare find.
