Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A bijouterie table, also known as a vitrine table, is a specialised piece of display furniture originating in nineteenth-century France, designed with a glazed top lid to safely showcase small valuable items, pocket watches, or fine jewellery.

These tables are commonly constructed from ebonised timber or mahogany, featuring fine brass marquetry inlays, glazed glass panels, fabric-lined interior bases, and gilt-brass mounts or castors.

Authentic nineteenth-century examples often feature hand-cut brass marquetry, original lock mechanisms on the lid, naturally aged brass oxidation, and hand-finished ebonised surfaces with traditional joinery underneath.

A bijouterie table functions as an accent piece in hallways, bay windows, or living room alcoves, providing both historical character and a functional secure space to display curated objects or personal collections.

Maintain the piece by dusting with a soft, lint-free cloth, avoiding abrasive polishes on the brass inlay, keeping glass panels clean with specialised glass cleaner applied to a cloth rather than directly to the wood, and controlling ambient humidity to prevent timber movement.
