Rare Set of Eight French Faux Livres False Books

Description

Wonderful rare long set of eight French "Faux Livres" These lovely books were used as secret storage boxes used to hide valuables in a very clever manner, made from card they are incredibly realistic with gold embossed leather look spine with a Notaires name and 19c date stamps, they are most likely to date from around 1890/1900. Very original, complete and extremely handsome and attractive they are!
