Very rare Dark Blue Wedgwood Jasper-ware Trinket Box in the form of a heart and depicting Josiah Wedgwood. The box is of high quality, in very good condition and has the late 1800''s and early 1900''s mark WEDGWOOD and ENGLAND impressed on it''s base.
We believe that it was made in 1895 to commemorate the centenary of Josiah Wedgwood''s death in 1795, albeit there is a possibility that it depicts George Washington.
The box measures ca 9 cm in width, ca 7 cm in depth and ca 4 cm in height.
