In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1920s.
One corner is engraved with an armorial crest in the form of a mythical horned beast.

The silver corners are clearly hallmarked for Stokes & Ireland Ltd, Chester, 1921.
It is in good condition for its age. It has been well used and there is some wear and minor losses to the leather including one repair. The edges are a bit frayed and there are a few small marks and dinks on the silver corners but nothing detrimental. It does come with a piece of blotting paper which has been used (one side more than the other). It probably still has some use left in it but replacement blotting paper is easy to source. There are no major damages and overall it displays very well with a nice aged patina. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
