Antique Treen Lidded Barrel - Dated 1794

Description

A Georgian lidded barrel and lid turned from stained beech wood. Interestingly the owners name and date are inscribed on the lid and base Elizabeth Howell with the date 1794. These lidded barrels were used for a variety of uses including spices.

The piece is decorated with incised line decorations and scratch carving around the middle.

It measures 8cm h x 6cm w.
