Rare Antique (19thC) Ottoman/Persian Qalamdan, a scribe''s pen box with attached inkwell (similar to a Japanese yatate). The Qalamdan was used by various government officials and was a sign of office and status. This brass example is profusely decorated with beautiful Islamic designs and symbols. 21cm long x 4.5cm high, weight 280g.
In lovely original condition with a nice patina.
