Fabulous Antique Crocodile / Alligator Skin Rocking Blotter by Asprey of Bond Street

Description

Dating to around 1900 / 1910, this wonderful antique English desk blotter was retailed by the creme de la creme, Asprey of Bond Street, the gold embossed signature can be seen on the side.

Covered in a rich chocolate brown crocodile skin, each corner on the top is mounted with a silver-gilt mount (gold over sterling silver), unmarked but guaranteed.

The handle obviously unscrews to dismantle the blotter to re-fit blotting paper.

Excellent condition (minor ink stains on the mounts, mentioned purely for accuracy), measuring 5 1/2" x 3 1/4" x 2 1/2" tall.
