Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This impressive Victorian serving table is produced in warm brown oak in an English country house style. The piece stands on four ring-turned and fluted legs with carved bulbous sections and small round feet. A raised back gallery with rectangular fielded panels runs along the top surface, framing a flat rectangular top above two frieze drawers fitted with small wooden knob handles. Flat moulded panels accent the aprons beside the drawers and on the gallery uprights, whilst the timber displays a medium-to-dark grain pattern across its surfaces. Standing at 104 cm high, 198 cm wide, and 66 cm deep, the serving table is suited for display and service in a dining room, hallway, or living space today.

FAQs

A Victorian serving table, also known as a server or side table, was designed in the nineteenth century to assist with food service in formal dining rooms, placed alongside a primary dining table or sideboard.

These tables were typically crafted from solid hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut, featuring mortise and tenon joinery, hand-carved details, and turned or fluted legs.

Authentic pieces often showcase hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, natural timber wear, original wooden turnings, and construction techniques consistent with nineteenth-century craftsmanship.

A serving table can function as an entryway console or a living room sideboard, balanced with contemporary table lamps, modern artwork, or minimal ceramic decorative accents.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth, and apply a high-quality beeswax polish occasionally to nourish the wood and protect the original finish from drying out.
