Anatole France born François-Anatole Thibault, (1844 – 1924) was a French poet, journalist, and novelist who produced a number of best sellers. He was a member of the Académie Française, and won the 1921 Nobel Prize in Literature "in recognition of his brilliant literary achievements, characterised as they are by a nobility of style, a profound human sympathy, grace, and a true Gallic temperament"

These 31 volumes are handsomely bound in quarter morocco, with gilt decorated spines and marbled paper covered boards, marbled end papers and gilt top edges. Published by Calmann-Levy of Paris and whilst undated likely to be circa 1920. Tightly bound and clean save for some age toning to the pages and an occasional intact but loosening preliminary page. Externally light shelf wear, light scuffing and marks and some minor loss to the gilding. Each volume measures some 18.7cms tall, 12.5cms deep and the overall combined shelf coverage is approximately 84cms.
