Occasional tables are small, movable tables designed for specific functional uses within a room, evolving through various historic design periods with distinct leg configurations and top shapes.

Fine furniture pieces from historic eras typically utilise dense hardwoods such as mahogany, walnut, or oak, often featuring hand-cut dovetail joints and traditional timber framing techniques.

Authenticity is assessed by examining construction methods, such as hand-cut joinery, timber shrinkage patterns, patination on the wood surface, and the presence of period-appropriate fixings.

Mixing historic wooden pieces with modern seating creates a layered aesthetic, grounding contemporary spaces with rich textures and traditional craftsmanship.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct heat sources and sunlight, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate natural waxes to preserve the finish.
