A 19th cemtury mahogany cased travelling or explorer's compass. It has brass hinges and a brass locking clasp. Good clean compass dial and in good working order. These Explorer's compasses were popular during the early to mid 1800's when people went on their trav.

This example is bigger than most measuring 9cm w x 9cm d x 2cm h.
