Regency Neoclassical Needlework

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A fine and decorative Regency needlework of a classical ruined temple. The piece is worked in simple black thread and was probably done over a print on fine cloth of the same scene. The whole is in good condition with some loss to the fine cloth but not the stitching or the backing. The piece retains the original gilt frame with verre eglomise painted glass. The whole has a great look of the Georgian Neoclassical period and is ready to hang. C.1810.

Overall sizes in inches including frame: 24 ½ by 17 ½
