Good Quality Heavy Victorian Gilt Frame No 11

Description

This is a good quality 19th century gilt frame from the mid Victorian era in nice original condition with its original gilt finish.

The frame dates from around 1860 and has a good classical gesso moulded design and harebell cabled detail. It has an inner slip with artist and painting name that could be removed or over gilded if needed be.

The frame measures 70 cms by 56 cms overall.

The aperture is 44.3 cms by 29.7 cms with the opening at the back being 46 cms by 31 cms.

It is possible to remove the inner gilt slip so that would enable a frame with an aperture of 49.5 cms by 35 cms with the opening at the back to receive your painting becoming 51 cms by 36 cms.
