FAQs

A tilt top table is a versatile piece of furniture featuring a hinged top that can be rotated vertically and stored flat against a wall when not in use.

These tables were predominantly constructed from dense hardwoods such as solid mahogany, oak, or walnut, often featuring turned central pillars and tripod bases.

Authentic pieces typically display period-appropriate joinery, hand-turned components, natural timber shrinkage, and a rich patina developed over centuries of polish and use.

Placed against a living room wall in its tilted position, it serves as sculptural wooden wall art, or it functions as a compact centre table when laid flat.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, applying a traditional beeswax polish periodically to nourish the wood.
