A Georgian breakfast table is a multi-purpose occasional or dining table produced during the Georgian era, typically featuring a tilt-top mechanism and a central pedestal base with brass castors for mobility.

These tables were predominantly constructed from solid mahogany, often complemented by flame mahogany or rosewood veneers, crossbanding, and cast brass hardware.

Authentic pieces are identified by hand-cut dovetails, traditional joinery methods, timber shrinkage consistent with age, hand-turned pedestals, and genuine patination on the wood surface.

An antique pedestal table functions effectively as a focal point in a dining room or entrance hall, paired with contemporary seating to create a balanced transitional aesthetic.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent fading, and treating the timber periodically with natural beeswax rather than modern silicon polishes.
