2 Carved Bone African Yoruba Tribal Statues, C1920

1900 - 1920
Description

Two well carved African tribal statues,c1920. Most probably from the Yoruba tribal area one is topped with wire decoration and depicts a maternity figure cradling two babies, the other an ancestor figure. Carved in a similar style and most likely from water Buffalo bone the ancestor figure is hollow and the other solid. Both have a real tribal charm and would display well in a modern or traditional setting.
