Description

A large and exceptional mid 19th century carved and polychrome painted British Royal Coat of Arms.

Finely carved from walnut the coat of arms has developed a rich patina.

At 1.6 meters wide (5’3” approx) the coat of arms is certainly and imposing statement piece.

Designed as a overdoor it would have graced an important public building.

The impeccable skill of the carver is shown throughout the piece but particularly shines through in the superb execution of the lion and unicorn flanking the central coat of arms.

Presented in excellent condition.

The Lion and Unicorn are detachable for ease of transport.
