Antique Georgian Mahogany Inlaid Sewing, Work, Lamp Pedestal Table C1820
£1,045 $1,425 €1,204
A Stunning Georgian Mahogany Inlaid Work Table.
A truly marvellous table.
We bring to you this outstanding, very rare Mahogany work table believed to be made around C1820. This stunning table is in a lovely original condition which we have just enhanced by sympathetically waxing this table preserving the lovely lightly faded original colour with lots of patina and charm.
This table is of the finest quality, featuring beautifully inlaid cross-banded Rosewood to the top surface along with Boxwood and Ebony stringings to frame the lovely flame grain Mahogany top. Underneath the top surface there are 2 boxwood strung drawers, one of which is locking with a bone key escutcheon and 2 turned knobs. The other is a hidden drawer fitted with organisation compartments. The sides of which are inlaid to mimic the frontage with boxwood stringing. The top stands on a square sculpted and boxwood inlay lined pillar. The pillar goes to a turned centre base with a Boxwood inlaid diamond to the ...front, culminating to umbrella tripod scroll legs with Boxwood linings to the edges.
This table has been throughly checked in our workshop, cleaned and carefully waxed.
There is no movement or play in any of the joints. The top is flat with no bowing or twisting and the table is ready for its new home.
Please note this item is in beautiful condition for its age as shown in the photographs below however being an antique item it does have the odd minor blemish here and there. However, we feel that these points are which adds charm and character to a piece.
