Description

A super pair of antique English polished brass letter scale dating to the late Victorian era. The right-hand pan has the " Postal Rates For Letter " engraved in it, making it easier for us to date as these rates were introduced in 1897, this scale I would imagine to date to around this period c.1900.

There are Five weights including the little handled one on the top which sit in there integral holder at the front of the scale.

The underside is signed by the manufacturer STS, which is an English manufacturer who's name escapes me, probably made in the Birmingham area famous for their metalware during the nineteenth century.

Excellent condition 7 1/2" wide x 5 1/2" deep x 4" tall.
