This is a rare survivor an early 1700s English candle stand. It is quite a substantial piece turned from olive wood with a great bulbous stem the base of which is lead weighted.It has some shrinkage cracks to the top and a small one to the base, which you would expect from a piece over 300 years old.
It measures 19cm h with an internal diameter on the top of the candlestand of 14.5cm.
