A Tibetan flint and tinder pouch circa 1800 , used by men to start fires for their evening meals or pipes . The pouch is made of leather and brass with an iron striker to the base to strike the flint . The pouch has a carrying handle to the top and each side is decorated with open mouthed lions . To the front and back it is covered in leather and overlaid with brass carved animals , locking catches to either side , back and front . When opened there is a leather compartment to keep the flint in .
