Godwin Aesthetic Side Table in Walnut Circa 1880

Description

An elegant walnut side table in the manner of Edward William Godwin. Made from walnut, this 19th-century occasional or coffee table has a wonderful light honey colour. It’s a nice example with a thin rail under the top and elegant fine turned legs. The lattice bracing beneath the lower shelf, which characterise designs thought to have been influenced by ancient Egyptian antique furniture, which Godwin sketched at the British Museum.
