Opus Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.

On the top there are two small mosaic inlaid lidded compartments each side of the inkwell, for spare pen nibs and stamps and a pen rest holder. On the side of this little box is a drawer for storing stationery, etc.
It all sits on four original bun feet.
The brass topped ink well is a replacement dating from around 1900.
It measures 22cm w x 20cm d x 4.7cm h.
