This Finely Carved Wooden Continental Armorial Shield displays exceptional detail. Carved in softwood, which has taken on a delightful warm tone, whilst displaying a good patina. The carved drapery has good depth and looks remarkably realistic, and it acts as a surround for the very intricate carving contained within.
The pair of animals are shown supporting the central shield, whilst resting on exquisitely carved foliage that displays particularly fine detailing. The crown at the top of the shield adds a regal element to finish the shield off.
Presented in particularly good patinated condition, ready to hang on the wall, to be admired by everyone who sees it.
