This is a good example of a child's antique bird scarer, made from beech wood this small bird scarer still is in full working order.

These rattles when swung rapidly emit a strong clacking sound as the wooden tongue rattles over the wooden cog. This bird scarer is still in working order. and small child's examples are difficult to find.
