It is embroidered with a LOVERS' VERSE:
If ever fortune should decree
Seperation for our lot
And send me far away from thee
I beg Forget me not
When to some distant place I'll be
Far far away from thee
Thou'll look on this and with a sigh
Thou wilt remember me
And if to meet no more it should be
From your memory never blot
That I these lines did give to thee
The words Forget me not
But still we hope to meet again
And this shall be the sign
That I do pledge my troth to thee
And thou shall pledge me thine
It is worked on fine lawn which has suffered a little over the years.
It displays well.
