A fascinating antique leather hat box with an attractive silk top hat by Cuthbertson of London.

The hat case shows a lovingly worn leather to witness many years of travel use, displaying a desirable aged patina. It is named to W.E Woolley Charnwood Salisbury, and can be dated circa 1900.

The Plush Silk Top Hat in good order, with tall crown, curved brim (edged with matching ribbon) and felt band. Although the appearance is similar to moleskin, these types of hats are instead made from a silk plush. Maker's mark to interior for Cuthbertson of London, hatters of London for the professional class trading from 1830-1920.

Overall, wear commensurate with age and use.
