Rare Japanese Meiji Ivory two-piece manju netsuke depicting bathers in a traditional communal public bathhouse (Sento) shown on the reverse side. It is signed Nakamasa. Other inscriptions are: ?? Zushu (Izu Province), ?? Yuhara (a spa location?) and ?? Saito (a name of a spa?). Diameter ca 5cm (2in) x 1.5cm (5/8in).
Lovely original condition and patina.
