Of rounded oblong form, the cover decorated with a scene of lovers , the young man departing for sea or war, at the dockside before a background of boats and wharf buildings.The reverse decorated with handpainted scene of an elegant young lady with ewer and basin perhaps, symbolic of her washing away her sins whilst her lover is at sea.
