Description

A large stylish 19th century mahogany wine or decanter coaster attributed to James Mein of Kelso. An impressive coaster of circular form with a gadrooned carved border enclosing a shallow base. Underneath are three original brass and leather casters. Scottish, Circa 1830. The Dukes of Roxburgh were one of the main large commissions that James Mein of Kelso had.
