A fine quality Victorian Cornish serpentine doorstop. The solid piece of serpentine is beautifully figured and coloured. It is barrel shaped with simple line engraved banding to simulate the barrel straps. The handle is sold brass and may originally have been straight and not at an angel. The whole is in excellent condition and is a wonderful and unusual period decorative item.
