Aaron Nejad Carpets and Rugs has dated this piece to the 1860s.
This piece dating from the second half of the 19th century is a typical example. The scene is ubiquitous, an Arcadian landscape with with trees and foliage to the front, architectural features to the rear. A fountain with gushing water is a nice detail. The overall composition is very harmonious. Complementary neo-classical style borders frame the scene. Note the excellent size too. This piece has survived in original condition with no reductions or cuts. Professionally cleaned and in excellent condition, this tapestry would make a subtle contribution to many decorative projects.
