Antique Cherry Wood Pigeon or Cuckoo Bird Call

Description

A very nice 19th century antique treen wood bird call. It has been very well made with an acorn finial on the top and a rounded body. Unusually made from a piece of Cherry wood so it has some great figuring. Three or four ancient, non active minor wood worm holes on the back.These were either for Pigeons of Cuckoos. By placing a finger over and then off the hole on the main body whilst blowing creates the appropriate bird call. It measures 14.5cm l x 5.5cm w.
