Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Pembroke table is a light, versatile drop-leaf side table designed in the 18th century, named after the Countess of Pembroke. Popular during the George III period, it features two hinged leaves that can be raised to expand the surface area for dining or tea.

Pembroke tables were predominantly crafted from dense Cuban or West Indian mahogany, featuring dovetails on drawer linings, hand-planed underside surfaces, and square tapered legs, often terminating in brass castors.

Authentic George III examples display signs of hand construction, including hand-sawn timber marks, natural shrinkage in solid wood joints, period-correct brass hardware, and original wooden rule joints on the drop-leaf hinges.

Position the table against a wall or behind a sofa as an occasional piece, extending one or both leaves to serve as a compact writing desk, lamp stand, or side surface in a living room.

Dust regularly with a clean microfiber cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, ensuring the piece is kept away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent shrinkage or fading.
